ABOUT THE ISLAND
Welcome to ’The Island Loosdrecht a hidden gem in the heart of nature, nestled in the idyllic Vuntusplas in Loosdrecht. This unique location consists of three islands with a total area of one hectare, surrounded by peace, water, and greenery.
Centrally located on the island is a charming tipi with a 13-meter diameter. There is always an opportunity here to relax or connect with other visitors between workshops.
On the island you will also find:
- 4 plekken waar workshops zullen plaatsvinden
- Kano's, en waterfietsen
- Toilets and clean drinking water

Catering
Tijdens VLOED 2026 wordt een vegatarisch diner aangeboden voor $7.50 per meal. Je kunt dit online aan jouw bestelling toevoegen bij het kopen van een ticket voor het event.
In addition coffee, tea, soda, and water verkrijgbaar en in de avond wijn en bier.
You are also allowed to bring your own food and drinks.
Boat tours
Het eiland is bereikbaar per boot. Wij varen op vier momenten heen en weerom 13:00 uur, om 17:30 uur, om 21:15 A man 23:00.
Stream
It is recommended to bring power banks to keep yourself powered. And even more strongly recommended to turn off your phone and enjoy nature, workshops, and each other :).
HISTORY LOOSDRECHT ISLAND
Frans Jonkhart took over Eiland Loosdrecht 50 years ago. At the time, he was a self-employed boat builder and saw a lot of potential in the island. When he first visited, it was nothing more than a soggy marshland that was barely walkable. However, through years of hard work, he managed to transform it into a unique place in Loosdrecht.
In 1981, he founded a sailing and surfing school here: “The Brave Dodo.” For many people from the surrounding area, this is a place full of fond childhood memories. Although Frans is now retired, he can still be found on the island daily tending to his vegetable garden. His grandson Raymond has since taken over and will also be our host on the day itself.
